Finals Performer | Alyse Faith

3MBS welcomes back flautist Alyse Faith to perform in the second episode of the finals for Season 3 of The Talent. She will be joined by accompanist ­­­Nicholas Young to perform at 7pm (AEST) on Tuesday October 18th.

Alyse is currently in her third year of studying a Bachelor of Music degree at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, majoring in Music Performance (Flute) alongside a Minor in Music Performance (Piccolo). She has been successful in auditions to perform with the University of Melbourne Symphony Orchestra during the 2014, 2015 and 2016 academic years.

Prior to relocating to Melbourne for study, Alsye was a student at the Central Coast Conservatorium in NSW for 11 years. During her time at the music school, she won the Woodwind Scholarship Competition four times and in 2010, after becoming a finalist in the Symphony Central Coast Concerto Competition, Alyse was selected to perform a concerto with the Central Coast Symphony Orchestra. In 2012 she was the winner of the Beach Music Scholarship, and in the same year she was awarded her AMusA in flute, passing with distinction.

In both 2015 and 2016, Alyse was a finalist in the Leslie Barklamb Competition of the Victorian Flute Guild. Alongside her solo playing Alyse has a great interest in chamber music. In 2015 she formed the Eden Quintet, a wind ensemble that she continues to play with currently.

Alyse and Nicholas will perform the following works:

  • Mvt. 1: First Sonata for Flute and Piano by Bohuslav Martinů
  • Mvt. 1: Sonata for Flute and Piano by Richard Meale.
