Kenny Keppel

In episode three, we were once again treated to the sounds of the clarinet, with a performance from performer, Kenny Keppel.

Kenny is a clarinet player from Auckland, New Zealand. In 2014 he completed his Bachelor’s studies at the University of Auckland under the tutelage of James Fry. He was a New Zealand Symphony Orchestra Fellow, an Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra Scholar, and has participated in masterclasses with notable artists including Jörg Widmann, Kari Kriikku, John Kruse, Andreas Sundén, Bjorn Nyman, Dimitri Ashkenazy and Michael Collins. He has performed with the Auckland Philharmonia, New Zealand Symphony, Melbourne Symphony and Tasmanian Symphony Orchestras, as well as ELISION Ensemble, Blackbird Ensemble, and others. His accolades include 1st prize in the Auckland Chamber Music Society Competition 2013, the Ken Wilson Clarinet Prize 2014, Anne Bellam Scholarship for 2015 and 1st prize in the CLASAX Buffet Crampon Clarinet Competition 2016.
