Meyrem Ogutveren, is a pianist who’ll be performing in episode five of The Talent. She started learning the piano when she was 5 years old. Given the the choice of which instrument she’d like to learn, she wisely chose the piano. Beginning as a Suzuki method student, alongside singing with the Australian Girls Choir, which established with her a strong sense of musical direction and listening skills.
Ogutveren then moved onto traditional piano learning and sat for multiple AMEB practical and music theory exams. She credits her fantastic teacher who instilled great technical abilities and a musical identity within me. Upon completion of VCE music, Meyrem successfully auditioned into the Conservatorium of Music at the University of Melbourne where she learns from Ronald Farren-Price whose warmth and knowledge has helped me to further her studies.
She hopes to bring happiness to anyone who hears her playing, for it is what she feels when she performs.
Meyrem will be performing two works: Miroirs No. 2 “”Oiseaux Tristes”” by Maurice Ravel and Legend No. 2 “St Francois de Paule marchant sur le flots” by Liszt.
