Fleuranne Brockway

In Episode 9, Fleuranne who has been praised for her “lusciously dark centred” voice by the Herald Sun, is an exciting young mezzo soprano from Perth. Born in Australia, she completed her Bachelor of Music in Classical Vocal Performance under the tutelage of Megan Sutton at the University of Western Australia. She has since furthered her vocal studies working with Gregory Yurisich AM and attending the Lisa Gasteen National Opera School on a full scholarship for the past three years. Last year, Fleuranne joined Victorian Opera as one of their Developing Artists for 2016. She made her company debut with Victorian Opera in the role of Madame de la Haltière in Massenet’s Cendrillon, and originated the role of Mrs Mayor in the world premiere of Richard Mill’s opera, The Pied Piper.

In 2015, Fleuranne made her debut with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra as Cherubino in scenes from Le Nozze di Figaro. In 2016, Fleuranne was selected as a semi-finalist in the Mietta Song Competition, Australian Singing Competition, and a finalist in the NFA Joan Sutherland Award. She is a previous winner of the North of Perth Music Festival and two-time finalist for the Fremantle Eisteddfod.

In 2017, Fleuranne joins West Australian Opera as one of their Wesfarmer’s Young Artists and is a joint recipient of the Bendat Scholarship. She is also the winner of the National Liederfest, 2017.
