Rose Gonzalez is currently completing her Masters in Music Performance on Guitar at The University of Melbourne. She currently is living in Melbourne but has travelled a few times to South America, and has lived for two years in Chile and Brazil. While in Brazil, she discovered the ‘Universal music’ of Hermeto Pascoal which inspired the research component for her Masters. She enjoys playing music of the Latin American style. She loves this style because it is where the solo guitar repertoire is often a fusion between classical technique and popular, contemporary music.
Rose will be performing The Dreamers Song from Colombian Suite No. 2, Javier Contreras’ Feeling and Reason: Homage to Victor Jara, and Morning Bells by Australian Composer Ken Murray on the 15th August.
