Jackie Wong – Violin

Jackie Wong is a violinist currently studying at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music. She began learning the violin at the age of five and is grateful to have studied under the tutelage of exceptional musicians such as William Hennessy AM and Dr Di Bresciani OAM. As the recipient of the 2015 Paul McDermott Scholarship, Jackie was invited to perform at the Sounds Great Conference at the Arts Centre Melbourne; in the same year, she performed as a soloist with the Melbourne Musicians Chamber Orchestra. Other solo highlights include appearing as a Young Performer at the 2017 Music in the Round concerts and performing at the 2018 VCE Top Class Music showcase held at the Melbourne Recital Centre. Jackie is currently a finalist in the 2019 Melbourne Recital Centre Bach Competition, Australian Youth Classical Music Competition and the Melbourne Youth Orchestra Virtuosity Concerto Competition. She enjoys chamber music and is a member of the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music Symphony Orchestra and string ensemble program, where her quartet was selected as Young Emerging Artists at the 2019 Mímir Chamber Music Festival in Texas. Jackie also holds a Licentiate Diploma in Pianoforte from the Australian Music Examinations Board.
