We’re halfway through Season 1 of The Talent 2022! Joining us this week on Episode 5 will be pianist Lesley Yim, performing for us works by Liszt. Unfortunately our second performer for the show, flautist Jenna Choi, has had to withdraw from the programme. Instead, we’re going to hear some wonderful highlight performances from last season.

Lesley is a pianist currently undertaking his Masters of Music Research degree at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music – University of Melbourne. Having flourished with his piano playing under the fine tutelage of Melbourne pianists Caroline Almonte, Stephen McIntyre and Ian Holtham he has a particular interest in the music of The Great Romantics. Having won prizes and received scholarships at various competitions both as a soloist and chamber musician, Lesley relishes the opportunity to make and share music collaboratively.

Aside from performing, Lesley maintains a very active teaching schedule. He has a strong passion for music education and hopes to develop and nurture the next generation of young musicians.

Lesley will perform:

  • Liszt: Petrarch Sonnet 123
  • Schumann/Liszt: Widmung
