This week we welcome violinist Ivana Tomášková as guest mentor for Episode 6.

Born in Czechoslovakia Ivana  is a graduate of the Conservatorium in Brno and the Tchaikovsky Conservatorium in Moscow. In 1992 she completed her Master of Music at the Prague Music Academy.

With a wide repertoire as a soloist and as member of several chamber music ensembles, she has given concerts and master classes in many European countries, in USA, South Africa, Asia, NZ and Australia. Ivana has made numerous radio recordings for Czech Radio and the ABC and commercial CDs on Panton, Multisonic, Arcodiva and Move labels.

Ivana is a founding member of Duo chamber Melange with the pianist Tamara Smolyar. Apart from their regular concerts in the MRC, they have performed at many prominent venues in Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong and NZ. The Duo has release CD’s on Move and Schimmel labels.

Teaching is a big part of Ivana’s life. She was teaching at Brno Conservatorium. Melba Conservatorium and Monash University.
