The Talent is a live-to-air performance radio series devised by 3MBS Melbourne to provide opportunities for emerging musicians to help bridge the gap between their student and professional careers.

The Experience

• Attend our professional development day and participate in workshops for media training, programming, and marketing. 
• Perform live-to-air on 3MBS radio, express your passion for music through an on-air interview, and receive insightful feedback from industry mentors.
• Take away high-quality headshots and audio recordings for future audition and promotional use.
• Go into the running to be placed as a finalist and win prizes from sponsors including ANAM, Cinema Nova, CutCommon Magazine, Melbourne Chamber Orchestra, Melbourne Recital Centre, and Musica Viva.

Audition Details

Auditions will be conducted over the weekend of the 24th and 25th of June, 2023. In person auditions will be conducted at The Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music and Performance at Monash University’s Clayton campus.

Auditions may also be submitted via pre-recorded video.

Applicants are required to perform a 8-12 minute programme containing two movements or pieces of contrasting content.

Applications close Sunday 4 June, 2023.
