Alice Giang has been immersed in music since she embarked on violin lessons aged of four. Currently preparing for her upcoming AMusA exam, Alice has showcased her musical prowess in a multitude of competitions, both locally and internationally. Recent accolades include 3rd prize in her age category at the 2023 American Virtuoso International Music Competition, earning her the opportunity to perform a winner’s recital at the prestigious Carnegie Hall.

At school, Alice participates in the senior string orchestra and takes on the role of Student Ambassador Year level captain. Alice contributes her talents to the Cloud Youth Orchestra. In a recent highlight, she was appointed as the Concertmaster for a performance featured in a TV program for the Spring Festival Gala 2024 in Beijing, China. Last year, she was also a member in Melbourne Youth Chamber String under the Melbourne Youth Orchestras program.

In her leisure time, Alice occasionally indulges in busking around local Melbourne suburbs, using her performances as a means to fundraise and give back to her community. Besides her skill in violin, Alice is also proficient in playing the piano and flute. She maintains an active lifestyle, representing her school in tennis for Interschool sports and enjoys running and swimming. Additionally, she has been recognized as a major bursary winner in the Victoria Science Talent Search for her experimental research project last year.

Beyond her musical and academic achievements, Alice finds joy in spending time with friends, baking, engaging in video editing, writing stories and caring for her beloved 2-year-old Japanese Spitz named Mochi. With aspirations to perform as a professional violinist worldwide, Alice hopes to spread joy and love through her music to audiences from all walks of life.

A keen musician since the age of 7, Justice has had a wide musical experience, being involved in numerous music competitions, ensembles and masterclasses. In 2023 Justice began her studies at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music with Dr. Kenji Fujimura. She has since enjoyed exploring every facet of music, playing solo and in groups, improvising and analysing. She has a passion for learning rarely played works outside of the standard repertoire, and it is this love of uncommon music that leads her to discover a wide range of composers, techniques and styles. She loves to enjoy and engage with music as art, and hopes her performance encourages the audience to make an effort to understand the meaning of the music.

Justice will perform:

  • F Liszt: No. 5 from Grandes Etudes de Paganini,  “La Chasse”
  • György Kurtág: 7 pieces from Eight Piano Pieces, Op. 3
