Brama Quartet – Piano Quartet

The Brama Quartet is a newly established chamber ensemble, brought together by their love of music from the romantic period. All members of the quartet study at the University of Melbourne under the tutelage of Kristian Chong and comprise of honours students and a third year undergraduate. Formed in 2019, the quartet hopes to further their development as an ensemble in the future, and continue their passion for chamber music through exploring the expansive piano quartet repertoire. Their violinist, Lizzy, is an avid performer, with a variety of solo and orchestral experiences in both Australia and New Zealand. Lizzy also works as an educator, and hopes to nurture the future generation of violinists in helping them explore the beauty of music. Violist Eugenie has played in both amateur and professional orchestras including the Melbourne Youth Orchestra and the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra, and has even appeared in orchestral CD recordings for artists including Anthony Callea. Michaela, their cellist, works as both a performing cellist and music educator, where she is actively engaged in orchestral and chamber ensembles whilst hoping to inspire the next generation of cellists through her teaching. Last but not least, Joy, the quartet’s pianist, hopes to inspire through her music. Since beginning piano lessons at the age of six, Joy has performed extensively, with her most memorable performance being the second movement of Beethoven’s Emperor Concerto at Hamer Hall with her school orchestra.
