Episode 2: pianist Ben Fu
16-year-old Ben Fu was born in China, and began his piano studies at the age of 7. Ben has won several first prizes since 2019 after coming to Australia, mostly recently being the first prize of 2020 Boroondara Eisteddfod piano concerto competition.
Episode 1 Guest Mentor: pianist Julia Hastings
Our first guest mentor for Season 2, 2021 is pianist Julia Hastings. Julia is a Melbourne-based pianist who defies stereotypes by being equally at home on stage as an actor.
Episode 10: pianist Hannah Shin
Hannah Shin is a Bachelor of Music (Hons) student at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, studying with Glenn Riddle. She has won numerous prizes in international competitions.
Episode 9: pianist Thong Truong
Thong is a third year Bachelor of Commerce and Music student at Monash University. Prior to entering Monash, Thong studied with Wendy McLean on piano and with Jennifer Chou on pipe organ. At Monash he has studied with Anthony Halliday and is currently under the tutelage of Dr Tomoe Kawabata.
Episode 7: pianist Sarah Chen
Sarah Chen, a student of Dr Mark McGee, is a 15 year old studying Year 12 at Tintern Grammar School who is both passionate about and talented at playing classical music for both piano and violin.
Episode 6: pianist Ray Liang
Our second performer on The Talent tonight is pianist Ray Liang.
Episode 5: Pianist Dorothy Li
Dorothy began playing and performing at the piano at a young age and her enthusiasm for music has only increased. Born in Melbourne, she attended school there and began learning from Dr Mark McGee.
